Captain Cooks Casino

Get $500 starting chips and I hour to win up to $150.

Captain Cooks was one of the original MicroGaming casinos to introduce the free play bonus. A higher winnings cap of $150 makes this attractive, but the deposit requirement of $50 for cashouts is disappointing.
  • Winnings cap $150
  • Rollover 30x
  • Free $500 to play with
  • No UK, no USA
  • Deposit $50 to cashout
  • No mobile casino

This free play bonus is similar to other such offers at MicroGaming casinos, though the winnings cap is higher on this one at a maximum amount of $150. You do not need to deposit to get this bonus, but do note that a deposit of at least $50 will be required in order for you to withdraw any winnings you accumulate from this bonus.

About Captain Cooks Casino

Captain Cooks has been online since 1999, making it one of the oldest online casinos. It runs on the standard MicroGaming casino software, with both the download version and the instant play version on offer. Sadly, there is no mobile version available at this time.

The casino has a licence from the Kahnawake Gaming Commission but does not have a U.K. licence.

As a member of the Casino Rewards group of online casinos, you may be refused this bonus if you have accepted a bonus at another of this groups casinos.

$500 free play bonus terms and conditions

As always, you need to read the small print to be sure that you get to collect any winnings you can generate from this bonus offer.

The first major point to note is the requirement for winning players to make a deposit before any cashout will be processed. This is an anti-fraud measure, so that you cannot have multiple accounts at the casino, which is perfectly understandable, but still a bit of a negative.

Rspecially so given that the minimum deposit amount at this particular casino is $50, which I think is too high for many players.

The procedure for getting the bonus is simple; sign up at this casino and download the free play software – this is a special version of the casino with a game timer. The timer is there because you have 60 minutes to complete the terms of the bonus. Of course if you get ahead early you can cashout without waiting for the full 60 minutes to be up, and if you fall behind, you can reset the timer to have another go.

To be able to get any winnings from this bonus you need to increase your starting balance of $500 by at least $20. The most that you can get out of this is $150, which is higher than a lot of similar offers.

Players need to make at least 20 bets before they will be able to collect their bonus winnings.

So, once you have made at least 20 bets, if you have between $520 and $650 in your bonus account you can click the quit early button and whatever amount you have over the original $500 will be transferred into your casino cash account. If you have more than $650 when you quit then the most that will be transferred will be $150.

Once your winnings have been transferred to your cash account, you will have to complete the wagering requirement which is a multiple of 30. That is not a high rollover requirement.

When you have completed that requirement, you will be able to cashout any winnings that you still have at that stage, provided that you make a deposit of at least $50.

You should be aware that for the purposes of the wagering requirement, not all games count equally. Slots games will count fully, but other games such as Blackjack games will only count for a small percentage of the rollover. This is by now standard with all online casino bonuses. Table games and other casino games with a low house edge are only proportionally counted towards the amount of gambling that you need to do to clear the bonus.

Basically, if you can at all, stick to slots games while the bonus funds are in play.

This would be one of the better of this type of bonuses given that it has a higher winnings cap at $150, but the $50 deposit requirement is a big negative, and so counteracts the previous good point.
